Anyone who knows me knows I love music. Since the day I knew what it was I was hooked. From the age I could hold drum sticks they held me on the stool and I banged on my dad's drums so much it impressed the big 'bruvers', and when I was a little older my first 'boom box' was always 'way too loud!' I then grew to love the piano. I liked it so much I bought a keyboard and taught myself how to play it by ear. Basically anything that has to do with any kind of music, I'm in - Whether it's listening, going to concerts, or watching American Idol (I can almost see your eyes rolling!). I've grown to love to sing, too, but it was always with the radio up so no one would hear me, or in the car by myself.....
Growing up in this gigantic Irish family is quite a ride. When I hear others say they have crazy families, I listen politely and just smile because they honestly have no idea. But every summer (as it's been for the past 20 years), we crazed Irish kin sit around the campfire for a week sharing stories, laughs, roasting marshmallows (and anyone showing a weakness - beware!), and of course drinking lots of booze! One of my favorite parts, though, is the singing. There has been everything from American Pie to Garth Brooks, but mostly Irish music- songs of Irish history (no wonder we drink so much!!!), and plenty of sing-a-longs all which taught the rest of us what it means to be Irish. Playing and singing Irish music is the only thing that has really brought me out of my shell - It's really amazing, and I wouldn't have it any other way.

Lauren's motto..."Anything you can do I can do better." and has proven that on the baseball field (yes baseball), and on the basketball court. 'Sister Bear' is the little sister that was always picked first for a game of...well anything really. Lauren has always loved music too, and was one of the first of four kids to teach herself how to play an instrument. In the meantime, with music in her veins and Irish in her blood, she has cheered and clapped on the sidelines as her brothers entertained others performing the music that was true to her heart. Before long, she realized there may be a way to bring everything she loved together...playing, singing, and sharing what it means to be Irish. But there was one problem....she knew the keyboard wouldn't mesh well. One night watching her brothers finish the last song of a set, she overheard someone say that the music would sound even better with some bass behind it. The idea stuck in her head - a day later she bought one off the internet and started jammin'. A short while later she showed up at practice, unveiled her new axe, and proceeded to play the baseline to the entire first set. "How's it sound?" The next show the drums were moved over to make a spot for her on stage because even though no one knew it until that day, "The Susko Brothers" had a bass player. When asked about playing on stage she threw her inhibitions out the window, and has added a key female vocal as well as much needed bass to the show. She's used to being the only female in the group, so her comfort on stage allows this whiskey-drinkin' Irish lass to shine!

"Now instead of being little kids listening to Irish songs, laughing, and telling jokes around a campfire, we're big kids with instruments standing around one."
